1. Static drawdown
The example floor stays at starting balance minus the allowance. For a hypothetical $50,000 starting balance and $2,000 allowance, the floor is $48,000. Changes in equity do not move that floor in this simplified model.
Explore how an account's maximum-loss floor can change under different rule models. Edit the example values to understand the numbers before comparing actual provider plans.
Change the figures to compare three simplified drawdown models. The values are examples in US dollars, not any provider's current account terms.
For static rules the historical high is ignored. For end-of-day trailing rules, enter a previously completed closing high; today's intraday profits do not automatically raise that input. For intraday trailing rules the model also considers current equity as a possible new high.
This is only the mathematical distance above the illustrated floor, not a safe trade size or guaranteed remaining loss allowance. Fees, open P&L, other rule limits and liquidation mechanics are not modelled.
A maximum-loss threshold and a daily-loss threshold are not necessarily the same rule. This calculator models only one simplified maximum-loss floor.
The example floor stays at starting balance minus the allowance. For a hypothetical $50,000 starting balance and $2,000 allowance, the floor is $48,000. Changes in equity do not move that floor in this simplified model.
The example floor is the highest completed-day closing balance minus the allowance. If the closing high is $52,000 and the allowance is $2,000, the model shows a $50,000 floor. An intraday new high is not treated as a new closing high.
The example floor follows a manually recorded intraday equity high, also considering current equity. If the high is $52,000 and the allowance is $2,000, the floor is $50,000. Real plans may lock, freeze or calculate the limit differently.
This table uses hypothetical $50K starting capital, $2K maximum-loss allowance, $51K current equity and $52K recorded peak. It does not represent FTMO, FundingPips or any other provider.
| Model | Illustrated floor | Distance from $51K equity | What moves the floor? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Static | $48,000 | $3,000 | Nothing in the simplified model |
| EOD trailing | $50,000 | $1,000 | New completed-day closing highs |
| Intraday trailing | $50,000 | $1,000 | New intraday equity highs |
A calculation is not a risk recommendation. Actual provider rules may account for open trades, commissions, platform fees, lock thresholds, minimum profit and differences between evaluation and funded accounts.
